Oh Sirin…Eating Out Loud

Nora Ephron’s wisdom from her neck!

Bangkok’s Kinokuniya does not carry Nora Ephron’s I Feel Bad About My Neck, so I got it from Amazon.com. I couldn’t put it down!! I really learn a lot from her wisdom. There’s one line she says that I found so true…

“It’s much easier to get over someone if you can delude yourself into thinking you never really cared that much.”

She was talking about her love with Bill Clinton and the disappointment that came with it when he took the pizza from Monica, leading to the defeat of Gore and thus Bush and thus thousands of dead soldiers in the War.

July was such a dead month of the year. Not much activities going on plus the rain that drenched Bangkok… I found myself painfully in a sluggish form. But some good books saved me. Apart from Nora Ephron’s latest, I also enjoyed:

Eat This, Ian Jackman who painstakingly describes facets of food in the US and it definitely put the West Coast of the US on our next trip abroad. One advice, though, for those who are on diet and trying to cut dinner. Just do not read this book while you are underfed for the night!!
